Health Department:

The objective of the HEALTH DEPARTMENT of Municipal Corporation is to provide Health care facility for the population residing in the territory of BMC in holistic manner i.e. Preventive, Curative, and Rehabilitative. The activities under this department are Public Health, Control of communicable Diseases, Food Hygiene, and Licensing of Food establishments, Registration of Births & Deaths and Cremation grounds management.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JLNMCH) is the largest hospital in the city as well as the district with the facilities of 716 beds, 34 doctors and 325 nurses and modern equipment.

Sanitation Department

The Sanitation department has deployed a work force for sweeping the roads and lanes and for the collection of street sweepings etc. The roads and lanes are swept daily. The whole city has been divided into Wards/circles and the supervisor as been made the in-charge of the Circles for the purpose of Sanitation and refuse removal services. The city corporation has provided garbage collection containers at strategic points for the disposal of the waste, and is cleared at regular intervals using modern state of art technology and vehicles.
